Great little edit scooped up from Heavy Pedal. Rider's nickname is, well, Nickname and this is his Super Bowl Sunday ShrEdit. Lotta wheelies, some grinds and ledge lines. Nice one!

Last weekend was Stupor Bowl; the die-hard alleycat that's thrown in Minneapolis every year. This year's winner was none other than Jeff from All-City / Bike Jerks. He's got a great write-up over on the Bike Jerks blog, so head over and give it a read. Congrats Jeff!
Ever since I was cleaning my Corsa Extra and found not one, but two cracks in the head-tube lugs, I've been on the hunt for a new frame. Initially, my plan was to just find a frameset and swap all the parts over. A few weeks ago, I bought a Molteni Corsa Extra off eBay. I unpacked the box to find a rather large bulge in the underside of the top tube. A quick straight edge test proved that the bike had been wrecked. Bummed out, I shipped it back to the seller. At this point, I hadn't ridden my Corsa Extra because of the cracks and was still looking.
Then, last week I found something online.

Speaking of 14 Bike Co, the shop just posted photos from a forthcoming line of cycling-inspired clothing. The line is called 4TN and is geared towards city cyclists. Odge, a 14 Bike Co teammate, designed the clothing around London's vernacular stylings. Each piece is classy enough for your day job, fit for you riding your bike and casual enough to not stand out as "bike wear" in a bar. Sorry, pub.
More details and photos over at the 14 Bke Co blog.
Oscar, that wiley kid from 14 Bike Co, got interviewed by Wrahw through a series of email questions. Andy from Fixed Gear London set up the video and helped guide Oscar through the various questions. Check it out, don't let the 10-minute length intimidate you, just play it in the background while you work.

Nasty and the crew having fun riding around at night in the middle of Winter in Japan. Good shit! Were you guys intentionally ET-pedaling through that stair gap? High hops up the 4-stair too and of course, LuLZ at that fall at the end!
These are being shipped from the SUNringlé facilities in Milwaukee today. They're the new 700c / 29r MTX rims laced 4x to new Profile 3/8 axle fixed hubs. This may be one of the beefiest FGFS wheelsets ever built. Holy crap. 33mm wide, 24.1mm deep. Can't wait to try these out and see how they hold up!
Expect a review / comparison of the Velocity Chukker, Alex G6000 and these within the month. Should be fun testing all three wheels out!
Many thanks to Russell at SUNringlé for the rims and the lacing!
In Ruins is an Atlanta, Georgia hardcore crust band. With influences spanning from the obvious to the obscure, the band manages to mix a good amount of variety in their 3-track EP. The best part about this EP is that it's available for download here (with a small donation), at Moshpit Tragedy records. It's really worth it if you're a fan of Tragedy / From Ashes Rise or even the more modern German crust movement fathered by bands like Alpinist. The band manages to maintain intensity throughout the tracks and I'd be stoked to catch them live. Help support these guys by donating, I really wanna hear a full-length!
Matthew and Brittain have added some more dates to the I Love My Bike Book tour. This Thursday they'll be camped out at Affinity Cycles in Brooklyn all day. On the 26th of February, they'll be in Bmore and on the 27th, you can find them at the NAHBS in Richmond.
Thanks for the update Matthew!

I love my Homework t-shirt. I probably get more compliments on it than any other shirt. Swamp just posted some photos of a new shirt design. Not sure where you can pick one up (i've tried looking!), but it's a pretty dope graphic. I have a feeling if they re-printed the Sex, Drugs & Homework shirt, it'd sell out. Check out more photos of the design here, at Swamp's Flickr.
Livery Design Gruppe headed to the ASR Tradeshow last weekend. As a last-minute decision, the team threw together a rather impressive 10' x 30' booth showcasing their products. One of the features was this decked-out street track machine. Drool points over the Mavic wheels alone!
Check out some more photos from the LDG's booth here.

Ed Glazar went through his photos from last year's Monster Track and put up a nice montage on his blog. Some great shots in here for sure. This year's sure to be a killer race, so if you're going to be in town, be sure to come out!
Trick Track and RVA Fixed present the River City Trick Jam. NAHBS weekend in Richmond, VA. BE THERE SUCKASSSS!
I'll be there with a crew of NYC / Philly heads. Make it out for this!
Here's an edit from Third Coast's finest riders; AJ Austin and Eric Puckett. Just a real quick video from a spot they found this weekend. Puckett kinda just floats mid-air and AJ takes a spill!
For a few photos, check below.
Continue reading"AJ and Puckett: Sunday in Austin"Yesterday I overhauled my bike. After riding in Milwaukee's salty streets and the snowy, messy shit we had last week, the bike felt a little too crunchy for my liking. While cleaning out the BB shell and drivetrain, I decided to switch to a left hand drive. Since I can't do chainring grinds anymore, I wanted to give pedal and crank arm grinds a chance. Jeremiah did this last summer and I know a ton of the Tokyo riders are on it too. No one's had any issues that I'm aware of. Well, with BMX cranks anyway.
I also decided that I didn't like the tapered-legs fork. Even though the weight of the two forks are identical, the tapered-leg fork changed the handling of the bike. My guess is that the butting in the crown / bend of the fork blades was thicker than the non-tapered fork. This enabled the legs to be thinner / lighter. Removing weight from the fork ends would totally make the bike's head tube angle more apparent.
That's my guess anyway. Maybe if the Bruiser's HTA was slacker, it'd be fine, but with a 74.5° HTA, the last thing I want is the bike to be twitchy. Last week I went over the bars numerous times doing g-turns and when I'd land fakie off stairs, it was almost uncontrollably twitchy.
For now, we're sticking the current fork design. I also think with the massive downtube on the Bruiser, the dinky-looking blades were out of context. Anyway, that's my opinion. I still think this fork looks great on the bike.

Some more riding from YU, GOrilla's Japanese rider. He's got the 180 sliders on lock for sure.
Peel Sessions 02.04.2010 from John Prolly on Vimeo.
This was supposed to be a quick edit, but the upload crashed on me multiple times today. We were all hitting the kicker and clearing the box when Wonka decided to bar off it. A few tries later and he nailed it, along with a 180. It doesn't look that crazy, but it's easy to fuck up the timing and eat shit. That kicker is steep!
Fun night for sure. It'd been a while since we all rode due to the weather. See you guys next week!
